On January 14, 2024 at the age of 82, Ennis Bernard Gholston (born Ghoston) peacefully passed away at Residence Angelica in Montreal North. He was born in Vaiden, Mississippi and graduated from Rust College in Holy Springs with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and was stationed in Plattsburgh, New York for the most part of his services during which he was stationed one year on the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean. After an honorable discharge in 1971, he seeked permanent residency in Montreal, Canada where he lived until his passing. He was passionate about sports, especially basketball, and played throughout college, while in the U.S. Air Force then well into his forties during which time he made many friends.
Ennis was predeceased by his parents, Minerva Turner and Oscar Ghoston, his sister Annie Belle Ellis (last November) and his brother Oscar Jr. Ghoston. He is survived by his two sisters Flora Belle Seals and Eula May Scott both living in the United States. He did not wish to have a funeral but requested that his ashes be scattered in nature. His family wish to express their gratitude to the staff at Residence Angelica who took such good care of Ennis

On a joué au tennis ensemble et je le vois encore le dimanche p.m. étendu dans le lit chez Lise après une nuit de travail à regarder son football américain. J’aimais mieux le football canadien mais on jasait de tout et de rien. Il était tellement cool et relax. Aujourd’hui je suis rendu fan de football américain à cause de lui. Repose en paix et dors bien pour quelque temps mon cher ami. Tu reviendras à la résurrection promise et on reprendra nos parties de tennis !
Quand je l'ai connu, il m'a dit que son team dans la NFL était Philadelphie. Chaque fois que je voyais Phil. j' oué à la télé je pensais a lui. Voilà!
