On Monday, March 30th, 2026, Adele Klemm passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. She faced this dour condition and all the obstacles it presented with a courageous strength, and fierce determination, earning the admiration of everyone who knew her struggle. We extend a special thanks to Dr Abbas Sadikot and Dr Anne-Louis Lafontaine at the Montreal Neurological Institute for their unwavering dedication to all their patients.
Adele is survived by her loving husband Norman Klemm, her brother Ross, her daughter Desta and son-in-law Stephen with grandchildren, Elyssa, Pryor, and Brynn, Adele's two sons Ryan, Sean and daughter-in-law Julie with grandchildren Reid, and Ethan. Her love and kindness will survive with all of us. Where the seemingly insurmountable grief abates, the sweet memories she has left will endure. Where the weight of her passing holds us down, the strength and courage she inspired will propel us forward.
Born, and married in Winnipeg, her budding family moved to New Jersey for a brief time before settling in Montreal. Having borne three children, she learned French to restart her career as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital before retiring to a cottage up north, on Harrington Lake. A cottage, beautiful in no small part due to her love of gardening and skilled, creative needlework. When the day's gardening was done, she loved to go for a swim in the lake. An animal lover, Adele kept five Scottish terriers over the years - MacDuff, Angus, Jocky, Fergus, and survived by MacPhee. May the idea of their reunion bring us all joy.
Her last wishes included only a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers you can send a donation in her memory to the SPCA Laurentides-Labelle.
